“Ulysses in Hand” The Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle
Short list for the Gulbenkian Best Smaller Museum 2000
This was a temporary exhibition celebrating the life and work of James Joyce with special focus on the hand written manuscript of Ulysses being loaned by the Rosenbach Museum and Library in Philadelphia. The exhibition closed in October 2000
The most impressive and superb presentation of the works of Joyce.
Derick Dreher, Director of the Rosenbach Museum and Library
If it were performed under easy circumstances, the work done by Scroope Design on Ulysses in Hand would merit great praise, but given the conditions of a compressed timeline, a formidable subject, transatlantic three-party communications and lack of access to the original materials, Scroope Design’s work was extraordinary.
